Kids' Clay Stop Motion Animation Workshops
Create. Animate. Imagine.
Give your child the chance to discover the magic of stop motion animation this autumn.
In this fun, 2 hours long, hands-on workshop, they'll sculpt their own clay characters, and bring their creation to life one frame at a time with the magic of stop motion animation. By the end of the session, they'll leave with their very own animated short film to keep and share with family and friends.
Who is it for & drop-off choice
This workshop is designed for families who either want to drop-off their children, or stay throughout the workshop and animate together.
Important not: Children under the age of 8 need to have at least one parent/guardian stay. Drop-off's are only possible for children of ages 8+. Children up to the age of 3 are free.
Adults don't need to buy tickets for themselves. Ticket purchase is only needed for children ages 4-17.
Taught by a professional stop motion animator:
The workshops are led by Maraike Kraemer, a professional stop motion animator whose work includes productions such as Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit, and Shaun the Sheep.
Through Jolly Fox Studio, Maraike loves inspiring the next generation of animators by sharing the creativity and joy of claymation.
Designed for children aged 4–17, the workshops are welcoming, relaxed and suitable for complete beginners. Workshops are organised into age-appropriate groups to ensure every child enjoys an engaging and supportive experience.
Whether your child already loves animation or simply enjoys making, building and creating, they'll be guided every step of the way in a friendly, encouraging environment where imagination comes first.
Your child will:

Sculpt their own clay character

Learn the basics of stop motion animation

Create and animate their own short film

Take their finished animation and sculpts home to share with family and friends
No previous experience is needed. Just curiosity, creativity and a willingness to have fun.
Places are limited to keep group sizes small and ensure every child receives plenty of individual guidance.
What to bring:

A fully charged phone or tablet

The "Stop Motion Studio" App already downloaded (important: please check if the device is allowing camera access to the Stop Motion App before the workshop)
